Terms & Conditions
YOUR PETS HEALTH
*You must inform the groomer of any existing medical conditions your dog may have.
* If your dog appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other dogs.
* We will not groom a dog that has had anaesthetic within the last 24 hours or has received a surgical procedure which requires stitches. The dog must be fully healed before a groom can take place.
* We will not groom any dog that has been micro-chipped within the last 24 hours.
* We recommend that puppies wait at least one week after their second vaccinations before attending their groom.
* Pregnant bitches or that are nursing puppies will not be accepted for a groom.
* If your dog is found to have fleas, we will charge a fee of £15 in addition to the cost of the groom. Your dog will be treated with flea shampoo and the salon disinfected/fumigated.
* Any dogs that are in discretion of the grooming team to be in need of immediate veterinary attention will receive this and you agree that you will be liable for any resulting additional costs.
APPOINTMENTS
* We require 24 hours notice for appointment cancellations.
* Fairy Dog Mothers may require a non refundable deposit at our discretion to secure your booking. This must be paid either in the salon by cash or card/contactless.

* Late cancellations or failure to advise of not attending your appointment will incur a 50% fee which will need to be paid in full before any further appointments will be made.

*Please ensure that your dog has been given the opportunity to be relieved before they enter the salon. This will ensure that they get the maximum enjoyment out of their groom.
* Whilst every possible care is given to all dogs at Fairy Dog Mothers, any dog left within Fairy Dog Mothers is left entirely at the owners risk.
MATTED COATS
When a dog's coat becomes matted, it causes the hair to pull tightly on the skin underneath causing discomfort. Any underlying skin problems or irritations are unable to be seen.
Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal:- this includes prolonged 'de-matting' which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of your dog. We will only ever attempt to de-matt around 5% of a dogs coat (about 50p sized matts behind ears or in armpits etc).
If having assessed your dog's coat and find it to be matted excessively, it will require a short clip. This can reveal hidden sores or irritations caused by poor health or hidden skin conditions. The process of de-matting increases the risk of injury including but not limited to cuts, grazes and possible haematomas. In addition, you may see some behavioural changes such as head shaking, excessive scratching, licking or 'scooting'.
An additional fee for de-matting a dog will apply at the discretion of the groomer. This additional charge covers wear and tear on equipment, additional products used as well as for the extra time and skill needed to remove the matting.
EMMIPET TEETH CLEANING
Emmi-pet is the ultimate solution for oral care as it not only efficiently cleans your pet’s teeth- removing heavy tartar, plaque, and staining but works prophylactically to prevent and protect against periodontitis, chronic mouth cavity diseases, tartar formation, bad breath odor, and the need for anesthesia during mechanical removal of tartar.
Ultrasound also promotes blood circulation in the gingiva which keeps gums healthy and free from inflammation whilst aiding healing processes.
Please note that if we deem your dog's teeth are in poor condition, no clean will take place and we will request that you seek veterinary advice.
